  • The apex organisation for Industry in Zimbabwe, the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI), has been in existence since 1923. It is an independent, self-financed, legally constituted organisation that represents and serves interests of members in a wide array of matters affecting their viability and competitiveness.

  • CZI has four regional chamber offices in Mashonaland, Matebeleland, Midlands, and Manicaland, which serve as reference points for industry in international business community. The head office is in Harare.

  • CZI promotes active business in Zimbabwe to achieve a minimally regulated business environment, in which development is possible.


CZI undertakes this function on behalf of members to ensure that both the central and local governments enact laws that are conducive for optimum business operations.

Broad basic Economic advice
Providing members with economic analysis on a monthly basis. Government and the Central Bank constantly consult the CZI on key economic issues.

Information Dissemination
CZI provides members with information that is important and general in nature to suit the membership needs. CZI also provides survey/research-based information.

  • Maintain dialogue with Government to work towards achieving a more conducive business environment.
  • Lobbying for the promotion of exports through export incentives.
  • Organise workshops and seminars on topical issues.
  • Advocacy work targeted at parliamentarians and other policy makers.
  • Coordinating a business linkage programme under which the CZI corporate members provide business opportunities to SMEs by subcontracting non-core activities.
  • Breakfast meetings or workshops on topical issues, Members round table, Congress, Annual General Meeting (AGM), Pre & Post budget meetings, Standing Committee meetings, Economic Outlook, Manufacturing Sector Survey, Business Confidence Index and golf tournaments
